Four years ago, during the pandemic, I embarked on a bold journey by moving to Kuala Lumpur with my husband, a step that felt like a true leap into the unknown. Trusting his belief that I would love this new life, I left Italy without ever having visited Malaysia.
After a seven-year career in retail, I felt a strong need for change and didn't want to cross half the world just to do what I had already done. So, I decided to follow my passion for art, transforming a hobby into a new career as a painter. From that moment on, I built my artistic path, participating in international exhibitions and selling my artworks to collectors around the world. At the same time, I am also embarking on freelance activities in digital strategies, social media, and graphic design, thus expanding my professional horizons.
Although there have been moments of uncertainty and my life is still a true work in progress, I face every challenge as an opportunity for growth. When people ask me how long I will stay in Malaysia, the honest answer is that I don’t know; expatriate life is truly unpredictable, and each day brings new adventures and surprises. What I've learned on this journey is the importance of living every moment with gratitude and openness. If I had to start all over again, I wouldn't hesitate for a second.
I thank my husband for the opportunity and his constant support throughout this journey, but I also want to recognize myself: it was my courage to say, "Yes, let’s do it," that changed everything. ❤️
